Level 1 Courses
Level 1 is designed for clients who have learnt how to cycle but require basic road skills, which are assessed in quiet, mostly traffic free areas in Bedford or local to the client locaility, after a risk assessment.
The key points covered on the Level 1 course are:
Getting on and off a bicycle, starting and stopping without help.
Ride without help, making the bicycle go where they want, manoeuvre safely to avoid objects.
Stop quickly with control, emergency stops and the use of gears.
Look all around including behind, signal left and right all of these without wobbling.
Carry out a simple bicycle check.
The client is assessed carrying out these skills with help given if necessary to acheive the outcomes.
